Founded in 1895, the Carnegie Museum of Art is an art museum in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Conceived as a gift to the city and dedicated to the pursuits of art, music, literature, and natural science, Carnegie’s “monument” immediately became one of the most significant cultural institutions in the nation. This two-year, collaborative team effort was led by the museum’s Design and Marketing teams, in close partnership with Aryn Beitz (Director of Design and Publishing), Meg Forsyth and Laura Coombs (visual identity design and art direction), Berton Hasebe (typeface design), and Folder Studio (website design and development).
